0.95 is the live-performance and browsing round, and the release where the desktop analyzer becomes RigSculpt Workshop. The biggest additions are a new NAM drive mode that loads a captured pedal as a fourth DRIVE voice, an Output EQ rebuilt so the sliders finally land where you set them, a MIDI preset bank for calling up a specific sound by number on stage, mix-ready low and high cut filters on the cab section, and six new "More like this, but…" directions for steering the NAM library by measured character. On the Workshop side, pedals and full rigs get their own benches and honest, non-amp analysis. Around all of that: your pickup can stay put when presets change, switching delay or reverb off mid-song no longer jumps the volume, and the library browser's output and target levels are adjustable right where they are shown.

If you already have RigSuite installed, "Check for updates" will tell you a new build is available once this is live, at the same Ko-fi download.

The headlines

The eight changes most likely to matter to you, biggest new capabilities first. Everything else is in the full lists below.

  • NAM drive mode, a captured pedal as a fourth DRIVE voice: load a neural capture of a real boost, overdrive, or fuzz pedal in front of the amp, with the pedal-to-amp handoff calibrated from the two captures' measured levels.
  • The MIDI preset bank: map a footswitch, or a plain Program Change number, to a specific preset across 32 slots, so a set list calls sounds up by name. MIDI-driven loads never pop a dialog.
  • The Output EQ, rebuilt from the curve down: the eight bands solve for one smooth curve through your settings instead of stacking eight filters, with real before-and-after curve views, an optional loudness hold, and bands that re-center on the loaded amp.
  • Five benches, and honest pedal and full-rig handling (Workshop): the Home screen splits into Amp, Pedal, Full Rig, Cab, and Reverb benches, each analyzing its own gear class, so a pedal is described as a pedal and ranked against other pedals.
  • Cab LOW CUT and HIGH CUT: two mix-ready filters on the whole cab section trim rumble below their cutoff and fizz above it, at a musical 12 dB per octave. Fully down and fully up are true off.
  • Six new "More like this, but…" directions: directional library search doubles to twelve chips (more scooped or more mids, more presence or a smoother top, more squash or more dynamic), steering by measured character while staying in the model's family.
  • RigScope is now RigSculpt Workshop: the desktop analyzer is renamed on every surface. Your library, settings, and analysis carry over untouched, and updates install in place.
  • Steadier live rig: level-matched delay and reverb bypass holds the dry level when an effect switches off, and "my pickup stays put" keeps your guitar's pickup set across preset loads.

RigSculpt

  • NAM drive mode: the DRIVE section gains a fourth voice, NEURAL, beside Gild/Bloom/Storm. Load a neural capture of a boost, overdrive, or fuzz pedal in front of the amp. It runs at the model's own rate with the same oversampling as the amps, calibrates the pedal-to-amp handoff from the two captures' measured levels, adds INPUT (drive into the pedal) and ROUTE (Both/A/B) controls, and keeps its own pedal-NAM folder, separate from your amp library. The Workshop grows a matching "Pedal NAMs" home that RigSculpt sources automatically.
  • MIDI preset bank: map any footswitch, or plain Program Change numbers, to a specific preset. 32 slots, assigned from the preset menu, built for the set list. MIDI preset changes also stopped ever popping a dialog.
  • Output EQ, rebuilt: the eight bands now render one smooth curve through your slider settings instead of eight separate filters stacking. Sliders land where you set them, neighboring bands cooperate, and the boxy staircase quality is gone. SYNERGIZE writes through the same bands, so stereo matching inherits the smoother rendering too.
  • The EQ panel draws the real curves: the Changes view now shows the actual rendered response threading through your faders, and the Measured view shows the model's measured shape as a smooth ghost with a bright result curve on top. Both views work exactly as before; they just stopped making you imagine the curve.
  • Cab LOW CUT and HIGH CUT: two new knobs on the CABS page trim cab rumble and fizz for a mix-ready tone, applied across the whole cab section. Fully down and fully up are true off.
  • Six new "More like this, but…" directions: more scooped or more mids, more presence or a smoother top, more squash or more dynamic. All measured, all from the analysis in your files, laid out as six clear either/or pairs.
  • Output EQ holds your loudness: a new Settings option rides the engaged EQ with a measured makeup gain, weighted by where the loaded amp actually puts its energy, so moving the bands changes tone at steady volume. A bass boost stops doubling as a volume boost.
  • Output EQ bands follow your amp: a new Settings option re-centers the inner bands on the loaded amp's measured structure. Mid moves to where this amp's midrange actually dips, Presence to where its top end actually peaks. Amps without analysis, or without a clear dip or peak, keep the standard layout.
  • Level-matched delay/reverb bypass: a new Settings option holds your level steady when delay or reverb is switched off live, instead of the volume stepping up by the mix amount. The tails stop; the jump goes away.
  • My pickup stays put: a new Settings option keeps the PICKUP REVOICER's "your pickup" side set to your guitar across preset loads and restarts. Presets keep their own "voice as" target; they just stop overwriting which pickup you play.
  • Render Mode MAXIMUM no longer gaps an export: when Render Mode was set to Maximum and playback ran at a lower oversampling setting, an exported bounce could print a stretch of silence near the start — the switch to render quality was happening in the background while the export raced ahead. The quality switch now happens inside the render itself, before the first sample: the whole bounce is at Maximum from the very beginning, with no gap. This also fixes hosts that bounce on the interface thread, where Maximum previously never applied at all.
  • Your global settings can no longer be lost to a crash: RigSculpt's settings file — MIDI assignments, calibration, tuner setup, favorites — used to be rewritten in place, so a host crash or a DAW's plugin scan killing the process at exactly the wrong moment could corrupt it, and the next settings change would quietly rebuild it nearly empty. Every save now writes a complete new file and swaps it in whole, so the settings on disk are always intact; if a damaged file is ever found, it's set aside for recovery instead of overwritten. Nothing changes about where settings live or what's stored — uninstalling and reinstalling has always kept them, and now nothing else can take them either.
  • Full rig captures, handled properly: RigSuite now recognizes cab-inclusive captures however they're tagged (full-rig, amp_cab, amp+cab, and friends). Loading one onto a side switches that side's cab off automatically, so the capture's own cab isn't doubled; loading an amp-only capture back restores it. A manual cab toggle always wins, and a Settings switch turns the whole behavior off.
  • Per-side cab toggles: the CAB IR section grows CAB A and CAB B on/off switches (STEREO moves to the corner), so one side of a stereo rig can run its capture's own cab while the other keeps the cab IR. The FX-chain dot and MIDI switch still toggle the whole cab section at once.
  • Pedal captures get their own home: pedal .nams no longer clutter the NAM Library Explorer's amp views. Clicking the NEURAL drive voice's loader opens a dedicated pedal browser instead: a clean list of your pedal folders with similarity ordering (find pedals that sound alike) and at-a-glance badges for input calibration, output calibration, and Workshop analysis.
  • Loading a pedal engages it: landing a capture in the pedal slot — from the loader, the pedal browser, or a Workshop send — switches the DRIVE voice to NEURAL and powers the block on, so what you loaded is what you hear.
  • Pedal sends land in the pedal slot, reliably: a pedal capture sent from the Workshop always loads into the DRIVE section's NEURAL slot — even when its library entry is missing or its gear tag is unusual, it now reads the capture's own embedded type and never falls back to an amp slot.
  • A pedal is never loudness-normalized: when a pedal capture lacks its calibration figures, the DRIVE section now plays it at its raw trained level instead of leveling it to a common loudness — how hard a pedal hits the amp is its character, and flattening that made a fuzz and a clean boost drive alike. The amber note still names any missing figure, and full calibration still stages the exact real-pedal level. The Settings selector is now headed Amp Model Output to make its scope plain: Raw / Normalized applies to the amp models only.
  • Drive ROUTE works from a mono input: in a stereo rig fed by a mono track, the drive's A / B routing used to hit both amps no matter what the chips said (the split only engaged under STEREO IN). Now the one guitar signal splits properly: the routed amp hears the drive, the other amp hears the clean pre-drive signal. STEREO IN keeps meaning what it always did — a true stereo pair on the track.
  • Adjustable OUTPUT and TARGET in the library browser: the browser's output readout is now a real control (drag, scroll, or click to type), and the auto-level target is adjustable the same way on both pages.
  • Click a loader to open its browser: clicking a NAM or cab loader box now opens the matching library browser — the NAM Library Explorer for models, the Cab IR Explorer for cabs — so the browsers are easier to find. A new Settings switch turns this off for the classic in-place file menu; the arrows and folder icon are unchanged either way.
  • IN moves to its own top-bar tab: the top bar now reads IN, AMP, FX, NAMS, CABS. The input-conditioning chain (HUSH, gate, noise filter, the Pickup Revoicer) used to live as a section reached through the FX chain strip and was easy to miss; it is now a first-class tab, one click from anywhere. The IN chip on the chain strip still works, and the two stay in sync.
  • The library re-scans itself when you open it: the NAM Library Explorer now re-checks your folders every time you open it (not just the first), and the DRIVE pedal picker does the same, so a library you moved in the Workshop — or files you added or re-analyzed — show up without a manual rescan. If your old library folder has gone empty because it moved, RigSculpt re-adopts the Workshop's current location on its own. The check is cheap and keeps your place: it only jumps back to the top when the set of files actually changed.
  • A Rescan button, right where the count is: the Explorer now carries a small Rescan button next to the model count, a one-click way to re-sweep your folders and re-adopt the Workshop library. It does the same job as the Folders menu's "Scan Workshop User Library" (which now always re-sweeps, even when the folder is already loaded).
  • The pedal browser groups big collections: a GROUP button in the pedal browser sections the list by pedal (make and model), by author, or by drive character — the Workshop's own words ("Heavy drive, mid-humped", "Essentially clean"), read straight from each capture's embedded analysis so both apps always agree. Built for collections in the hundreds or thousands. It now opens grouped by pedal out of the box.
  • Every WORKFLOW convenience ships on: the Settings WORKFLOW toggles (pickup stays put, level-matched bypass, EQ loudness hold, adaptive EQ centers, and the rest) now default on; each keeps its off switch.
  • Synergize and the phase check know capture types: SYNERGIZE now declines mismatched pairs (a full rig with an amp-only capture) instead of computing a confidently wrong match, with the reason in the tooltip. The automatic phase check follows the same rule: a full rig's speaker chain shifts phase for real, so on mixed pairs the auto polarity flip no longer fires (it used to read the pair as out-of-phase and cancel one side). Two amp-only captures, or two full rigs, behave as before.
  • Module graphics dimmer: the Settings art slider (renamed from "FX pedal art" to "Module graphics") now also scales the amp, NAM-model, pickup, and output-EQ backdrops, not just the FX pedals. Turn it down, or all the way off, if the artwork makes the controls harder to read.
  • DRIVE shows its NEURAL voice: the DRIVE cell in the FX chain strip already changed color per drive voice (Gild, Bloom, Storm); it now turns blue for the NEURAL pedal voice too, matching the DRIVE pedal panel.
  • Stereo input meter: the input meter now shows both sides in a stereo rig, matching the output meter, instead of only the left channel.
  • The IN section reads darker: the five input-conditioning panels (HUSH, GATE, NOISE FILTER, DESCENT, PICKUP REVOICER) now sit on a darker, subdued field that matches the crisp black of the AMP page, instead of a brighter blue slab. The lit edge, frame, and titles keep their color, so the panels still read as distinct.
  • Cab strip layout: the CABS page control strip is evenly spaced, with Blend and the pans beside the new cut filters and Room.
  • Cleaner CAB IR layout: the cab section's STEREO switch moved out of the top-left corner, where it crowded the "CAB IR" title, down beside the CAB A / CAB B switches. And in mono the cab picker now sits at the same height as it does in stereo, so switching stereo on and off no longer nudges it.
  • Tidier Settings page: the "MIDI controller setup" button moved under the left column of WORKFLOW switches, balancing the two columns and lifting the credits and links below so nothing runs off the bottom.
  • Settings polish: the AMP MODEL OUTPUT Raw/Normalized options sit closer together, and the credits notices at the bottom of Settings are no longer clipped.
  • Module graphics dimmer now covers the Output EQ: the Settings "Module graphics" slider already dimmed the amp, model, pickup, and pedal backdrops; it now dims the OUTPUT EQ panel art too (mono and stereo), so turning the artwork down quiets every module the same amount.
  • DESCENT holds its level: the down-tuner's Voicing curve was quietly costing about half a decibel per semitone of drop into the amp (measured on real playing, not guessed from test tones). A matched makeup gain now rides the curve, so D standard hits the amp as hard as E standard. The voicing itself is unchanged.
  • DESCENT stability defaults to 100%: the down-tuner's Stability knob now ships at its steadiest setting — the same one offline MAXIMUM renders always used — so held chords ring true out of the box. Dial it down when the tightest pick-to-shift feel matters more; presets that set their own stability keep it.

RigSculpt Workshop (formerly RigScope)

  • Five benches, one per capture type: the Home screen now offers the Amp Bench, the Pedal Bench, the Full Rig Bench, the Cab Bench, and the Reverb Bench. Pedals and full rigs no longer appear in any amp view (or in the amp statistics): each bench browses its own gear class, and a pedal's overview talks about what matters in a pedal: drive amount, tonal tilt (including the classic screamer-style mid hump), and measured squash. The Pedal Bench's table adds an Out cal (dBu) column, and a pedal missing the figure wears an amber flag on its card and its Inspect page.
  • RigScope is now RigSculpt Workshop: same app, one name for the whole suite. Everything you know keeps working; your library, settings, and analysis carry over untouched, and updates install in place. The splash and the app icon now carry the RigSculpt mark. To keep the two halves easy to tell apart, the Workshop now refers to the plug-in as the RigSculpt VST ("Send to RigSculpt VST", "RigSculpt VST-ready").
  • macOS: the old RigScope app steps aside: after the rename, the Mac bundle is "RigSculpt Workshop.app"; on first launch it offers once to move the orphaned RigScope.app to the Trash (bundle-verified, and it moves the app rather than hard-deleting it). Long dialog button labels also stopped clipping on macOS.
  • Put the library anywhere: Library ▾ → Library location moves the whole library to another folder or drive (an external SSD, a bigger partition). Everything is copied and verified before anything switches, nothing is deleted unless you say so, and RigSculpt follows the library automatically wherever it lives. The same dialog can point the Workshop at an existing library, so two computers can share one library on an external drive. If the drive isn't plugged in at launch, the Workshop opens its default library instead of failing.
  • Pedal captures survive library backups and moves: exporting a library archive, importing one, and restoring from a backup now all carry the "Pedal NAMs" folder alongside your amp captures — previously an exported archive silently left the pedal files out. If you exported a library archive on an earlier build, please re-export it: the old archive genuinely does not contain your pedal captures, and no import can bring back what was never saved. Importing and adopting a library between two computers (Windows and Mac included) also got more reliable: captures land in the right folders and the "make it RigSculpt-ready" steps report their true state.
  • Send a pedal to the pedal slot: "Load in connected RigSculpt VST" on a pedal capture now lands in the DRIVE section's NEURAL slot and engages it, instead of asking Amp A or B. Amp and full-rig captures keep the amp slots, where they belong.
  • Pedal NAMs library home: a new "Pedal NAMs" folder alongside your Cab IRs and Reverb IRs, kept separate from your amp captures. Centralizing now files pedal captures there automatically, a one-time sweep moves any already-centralized pedals over (their analysis follows), and RigSculpt's NAM drive mode sources the folder on its own.
  • A drive-character vocabulary for pedals: each pedal now carries a plain two-part character — its drive tier (essentially clean, light, moderate, heavy) and its voicing (mid-humped, mid-scooped, treble-forward, dark, or even-voiced), measured from the capture. It shows in the Workshop, rides the embedded analysis, and powers RigSculpt's new grouped pedal browser.
  • Each bench speaks its own language, everywhere: the Stats labels, the Overview dashboard, and the side-by-side comparisons now rank a pedal against your other pedals and a full rig against your other full rigs: never against amp populations, and never with amp archetype names. The dashboard legend says so ("Pedal median", "Full rig median"), and Pedal Bench tiles carry a drive-tier bar (essentially clean through heavy drive) instead of amp colors.
  • Calibration, stated plainly: the analysis now records whether a capture carries input and output calibration figures, and the metadata editor explains both fields. A pedal's missing output figure is flagged, never guessed: it describes the capture rig's return interface and cannot be reconstructed from the file.
  • Pedal overviews read the calibration figures: a fully calibrated pedal's overview now confirms both figures with their values; the missing-figure guidance appears only when a figure is actually missing. And when heavy measured drive coincides with a very low output-calibration figure, the overview says honestly that some of that clipping may have come from the capture rig's return interface rather than the pedal.
  • Full-rig overviews say more: the voicing line now reports the deepest cut through the core of the range (the steep top-octave falloff has its own sentence), captures that are already dirty at the quietest probe level say so, and the dynamics numbers carry plain words (a deep squash, very touch-responsive, a stiff sag-free supply): the dynamics family is what a speaker passes through intact, so those words are on solid ground.
  • One gear dictionary for both apps: the Workshop and RigSculpt now classify capture types (amp, pedal, full rig, cab) from the same table, however the tag is spelled, so the two apps never disagree about what a file is.
  • Embedded analysis keeps up with the words: when a Workshop update improves the written overviews, already-embedded files are now offered a one-time refresh so RigSculpt shows the current wording, not last month's.
  • No chug score for pedals: the perceived Chug score describes an amp's palm-mute feel, and a pedal's chug ultimately comes from the amp and speaker it feeds — so pedals now show the raw palm-mute tightness measurement instead of a score that couldn't honestly apply.
  • No chug score for full rigs either: full rigs were reporting zero across the board. Measured on a real library, the capture's own cab and the amp's compression flatten the transient crest the probe reads, so the score would rank clean rigs above lead tones that plainly chug. Full rigs now show the raw tightness measurement with an honest explanation, and the embedded analysis follows suit.
  • The benches answer to their own names: the Pedal and Full Rig Benches now say "Browse by pedal" and "Browse by rig" (no more amp wording), drilling into a pedal shows its captures grouped by drive character, and inspecting a pedal no longer bounces you back to the amp views. The Map stays an amp instrument and never appears on the other benches.
  • Richer analysis export: Export analysis now includes each capture's gear class, its output-calibration figure, and (for pedals) the drive tier and voicing, so an exported sheet can be split by bench without guesswork.

Full details: RigSculpt

The MIDI preset bank: one footswitch, one specific sound

RigSculpt's MIDI control could already step to the next or previous preset, but a gigging set does not work in next and previous. It works in "chorus sound, now." The preset bank is 32 numbered slots, and each slot holds one of your presets. Two ways to fire them:

  • Program Change, no setup beyond assigning: once a preset is assigned to slot 3, Program Change 3 from your controller recalls it. Most floor controllers send a Program Change per patch, so a typical board just works. Program Change numbers you have not assigned keep the old behavior (recall by position in the preset list).
  • Any mapped control: the MIDI CONTROL menu's action list gains a "GO TO PRESET" group, so a learned footswitch, button, or note can fire a specific slot, on boards that do not send Program Change. The same group is on a MIDI board pad's right-click, so pads in the board view bind to preset slots too, not just the list view.

Assigning is done where your presets already live: load a preset, open the preset menu, and pick "Assign to MIDI preset slot…". Choose a slot and the loaded preset is assigned; the list shows what every slot holds, and picking the slot that already holds the current preset clears it. Assignments are saved globally, so your pedalboard works in every project.

Two details for the stage. Slots remember presets by name, not by position, so adding or renaming other presets never silently remaps your board mid-tour. And MIDI preset changes are now always silent: the "keep a copy in your presets folder?" question that could previously appear for a preset stored outside the presets folder is skipped for any MIDI-driven load. A dialog box has no place in the middle of a song.

Cab LOW CUT and HIGH CUT

Two new knobs on the CABS page, next to Room: LOW CUT trims cab low end below its cutoff (up to 400 Hz), and HIGH CUT rolls off fizz above its cutoff (down to 3 kHz), both at a musical 12 dB per octave. They apply once across the whole cab section, both sides of a stereo rig at once, the same way Room does, and they run after Room so the ambience is trimmed along with the cab.

They are the "make it sit in a mix" move: palm mutes that stack up under a bass, and top-end hash on a bright cab, handled inside the plugin instead of on an EQ after it. Fully down and fully up read OFF, and off is genuinely off: the filter is skipped entirely, so at their resting positions these knobs change nothing about your existing presets or your tone.

The CABS control strip was also re-laid-out around them: six evenly spaced knobs (Blend, Pan A, Pan B, Low Cut, High Cut, Room), with the stereo-only controls hiding in mono and nothing shifting position when stereo toggles.

Six new directions for "More like this, but…"

The directional chips in the NAM Library Explorer steer a search along one measured trait while staying inside the selected model's family. 0.95 doubles the set from six to twelve, and lays the whole grid out as either/or pairs, one pair per row:

  • More scooped / More mids: how deeply the mids are carved relative to the bass and treble around them, read from the EQ profile embedded in every analyzed model. This works on every file the Workshop has ever framed.
  • More presence / Smoother top: the presence-region emphasis, the difference between a cutting top end and a rounded one.
  • More squash / More dynamic: measured compression depth, the feel axis. More squash finds models that sit and sustain harder; more dynamic finds ones that breathe with your picking.

Every chip works the way the originals do: the results are models that measure genuinely further in the asked direction, ranked by how close they stay to the sound you started from, with the measured difference printed on each row. A model that does not carry the needed measurement simply never appears, and if nothing in your library measures further that way, the list says so honestly.

The squash pair reads the compression measurement that recent Workshop builds embed. Models framed by an older build grey those two chips until their analysis is refreshed; the Workshop's re-embed flow handles that in one click.

My pickup stays put

The PICKUP REVOICER has two sides: "your pickup," which is a fact about your guitar, and "voice as," which is a choice about the tone. Presets used to restore both, which meant switching presets with one guitar in your hands kept overwriting which pickup you told RigSculpt you play.

A new option under Settings ▸ Workflow, "My pickup stays put across presets" (on by default), separates the two. With it on, your pickup survives preset loads and app restarts: pick it once and switch presets freely, and each preset's "voice as" target still comes along as saved. The same treatment covers the custom pickup designer's source side. One honest edge: if a preset's target is the very pickup you play, there is nothing to revoice from your guitar's perspective, so that preset's saved pairing is left alone.

Level-matched delay and reverb bypass

Switching delay or reverb off has always stepped the volume up. That is a consequence of how the mix control works: while an effect is on, the dry signal runs at less than full level to make room for the wet (at the stock mixes, turning both effects off is about a 4 dB jump). On distorted rhythm tones the jump is especially plain, and if delay and reverb sit on MIDI switches for live use, it can push a carefully set level into clipping.

A new option under Settings ▸ Workflow, "Level-matched delay/reverb bypass" (on by default), holds the dry signal at the same level it had with the effect on whenever that effect is switched off, from the chain dots, a MIDI switch, or automation. The tail still stops immediately; only the level step goes away, and both edges of the toggle are seamless. The trade is stated plainly on the setting itself: with it on, bypass is no longer unity level, so leave it off when you are A/B-ing exactly what an effect adds. Nothing about the effects' engaged sound changes either way.

Set your level without leaving the library browser

The NAM Library Explorer's status strip showed the output meter, an OUTPUT label, and the auto-level TARGET readout, but adjusting any of it meant a trip back to the AMP page. Now the strip is live:

  • OUTPUT is a real control bound to the same master Output as the AMP page's knob: drag it up or down, scroll over it, or click to type a value. Hold Shift while dragging for fine moves.
  • TARGET, the level the auto-level and Match L/R features aim for, is adjustable the same way, both here and on the AMP page. Click to type still works as before.

So an auditioning session can live entirely in the browser: step through models with the arrow keys, watch the meter, and ride the output where you see it.

The Output EQ, rebuilt from the curve down

A graphic EQ is usually built forward: each slider owns a filter, and the curve you hear is whatever those filters happen to add up to. That adding-up is where the boxiness comes from. Set one band up 6 dB and the response only reaches about 4; set two neighbors together and they stack into a lump; the space between bands ripples like a staircase. The old hardware units that feel musical get around this by accident of their circuits, with bands that lean on each other.

The 0.95 Output EQ works backward instead. Your eight sliders now define the curve itself: RigSculpt draws one smooth line through all eight settings and then solves for the filter settings that actually produce that line. It is a small system of equations, solved instantly every time a slider moves.

  • Sliders mean what they say: the rendered response passes through your settings to within a fraction of a dB, where the old law could miss by 2 dB or more.
  • Bands cooperate: push Treble and Presence together and you get one wide lift, not two stacked humps. Cut Mids alone and the neighbors quietly reshape to keep the rest of the curve where you left it.
  • Width follows intent: small moves paint with a broad brush; full-throw moves focus. Cuts run slightly wider than boosts, and the low bands run wider than the highs.
  • SYNERGIZE inherits it: stereo amp matching writes through these same eight bands, so its EQ side now preserves each amp's overall contour instead of making narrow surgical cuts.

Nothing about your presets changes on disk; the same eight values simply render more faithfully. Sounds saved with heavy EQ settings will sound a little different, and closer to what the sliders always claimed.

Seeing the curve: the Measured and Changes views, upgraded

Because the EQ now solves its own response, the panel can finally draw it. Until now the Output EQ was a bank of faders and you imagined the curve between them; the curve on screen is now the real one.

  • Changes view: a bright line traces the exact response the EQ renders, threading through your fader caps. What you see is what the audio passes through.
  • Measured view: the model's Workshop-measured shape draws as a smooth dim ghost, and your result, measured plus EQ, draws bright on top. A true before and after, with the fader notches still marking each band's measured level.
  • Everything else stays put: both views keep their meaning, the faders keep their gestures, and Flatten, Accentuate, and Neutral behave exactly as before. The legend labels which line is which.

Output EQ loudness hold

An EQ move is also a volume move: boost the lows 6 dB and the track gets louder, which makes every boost sound like an improvement. The new Output EQ holds your loudness option in Settings removes that trick. While the EQ is engaged, RigSculpt computes how much louder or quieter your curve makes the signal, weighted by where the signal actually carries energy, and rides a matching makeup gain.

  • Weighted by your amp: when the loaded model carries Workshop analysis, the weighting uses that amp's own measured spectrum. The same V curve needs different makeup through a dark amp than a bright one, and the hold knows it.
  • Per side: in stereo, each amp path gets its own hold from its own amp's spectrum.
  • Step-free: the gain eases in and out over a fraction of a second. Turning the EQ off, flattening it, or loading a preset never clicks or jumps.

On by default, so EQ moves hold a steady level and you judge them by tone alone. Turn it off to let EQ changes move the level the way they always did.

Output EQ bands that follow your amp

Every graphic EQ puts "Mid" at one fixed frequency and hopes it lines up with your amp. It usually does not: one amp scoops at 400 Hz, another at 700, and the fixed band splits the difference for both. The new Output EQ bands follow your amp option in Settings ends the compromise. When the loaded model carries Workshop analysis, the inner bands re-center on that amp's own measured structure:

  • Mid moves to the amp's measured scoop: where this amp's midrange actually dips, so the Mid band grabs the character frequency instead of a neighbor.
  • Presence moves to the amp's measured peak: where its top end actually bites, between roughly 4.5 and 8 kHz.
  • The neighbors follow: Low Mids, High Mids, and Treble re-space themselves smoothly between the moved bands. Sub, Bass, and Air stay anchored.
  • You can see it working: every band label on the EQ now shows the frequency that band is working at, "Mid 440" instead of just "Mid", and a band that moved for this amp is tinted. The curves, the measured ghost, and every readout draw against the active layout.

Amps without analysis, and amps whose measured shape has no clear dip or peak, keep the standard 60 Hz to 12 kHz layout exactly. On by default; per amp path in stereo. With the loudness hold and the curve-first rendering, the whole EQ now reads the amp before it touches it.

NAM drive mode: a captured pedal as a fourth DRIVE voice

The DRIVE section has always been analog: three original overdrive voices modeled in code. In 0.95 it grows a fourth voice. NEURAL now sits at the front of the voice row, beside Gild, Bloom, and Storm, the same way CONV sits among the reverb types. Pick it and load a neural capture of a real drive, boost, or fuzz pedal in front of the amp, the same file format as your amp captures. The section takes on its own look in neural mode, down to the control color.

Two more controls come with it. An INPUT knob drives the pedal model harder or softer before its clipping, your creative control into the pedal, separate from the interface calibration. And a ROUTE selector (Both / A / B) chooses which amp hears the drive: Both is the whole rig; A or B sends only that amp the driven signal and the other amp your clean tone, for a wet/dry or two-flavor stereo rig. Routing works for the analog voices too, and only affects a stereo rig.

Running one neural model into another is not as simple as chaining two plugins, and this was built to get the details right:

  • It runs at the model's own rate. The analog voices sit on a 4x oversampled island; a trained model must run at the rate it was trained for, so the pedal NAM does not go on that island. It uses the same neural engine and the same oversampling policy as the amp models, so it behaves exactly as captured.
  • The CPU cost is named up front. Running a second neural model in your chain adds real CPU load, so the first time you load a pedal NAM a one-time notice explains the trade before you commit to it live.
  • The handoff is calibrated from the captures, not guessed. With output calibration on (the default), RigSculpt drives the amp at the level the real pedal actually put out, reading the pedal capture's measured output level and the amp capture's measured input level. It is a capture-to-capture match, independent of your interface. A LEVEL trim is there when you want to push harder or back off.
  • Your interface calibration follows the chain. The Settings input calibration now anchors to the first neural model your signal reaches, which is the pedal when NAM drive is engaged, so the whole chain stays calibrated to your rig.
  • Missing data is named, never hidden. An amber note under the loader tells you if a pedal NAM lacks Workshop analysis, an input-calibration figure, or an output-calibration figure, and what to do about it. Without the calibration figures the pedal plays at its raw trained level rather than being leveled to a common loudness, so how hard it hits the amp stays its own character.
  • Pedal captures keep their own home. Drive pedals get a folder list separate from your amp library, so the two never mix, and the Workshop's new "Pedal NAMs" library folder is sourced automatically.

Because output calibration now lives at the pedal-to-amp handoff where it belongs, the amp's OUTPUT setting is simplified to Raw and Normalized. Saved presets are unaffected; a preset that stored the old "Calibrated" output plays back as Normalized.

Two things worth knowing if you are updating. If you exported a library archive on an earlier build, please re-export it: the old archive does not contain your Pedal NAMs, and no import can restore files that were never saved in the first place. And the first time you open the Workshop after updating, it offers a one-time refresh of the analysis embedded in your library, so the RigSculpt VST shows the current wording and labels rather than an older build's. Both are one click and safe to accept.

A home for pedal captures

RigSculpt Workshop already keeps your amp captures, your cabinet IRs, and your reverb IRs in separate library folders so different content never mixes. 0.95 adds a fourth: Pedal NAMs, for neural captures of drive, boost, and fuzz pedals. Drop a pedal capture there and RigSculpt's new NAM drive mode finds it automatically, the same way it already sources your Cab IRs and Reverb IRs.

The rename. The analyzer's old name collided with an unrelated industrial company, and the suite reads better under one name anyway. Nothing else changes: the installer upgrades in place, your library stays where it is, and every saved setting carries over. The window title, About page, and installer say RigSculpt Workshop, and the splash banner and app icon now carry the RigSculpt mark, so the new name is the first thing you see at launch; everywhere else the app simply calls itself the Workshop.

Pedals, handled end to end. Centralizing is now capture-type aware: pedal captures file into Pedal NAMs, amps into the models folder, and a one-time sweep at startup moves any pedals that were centralized before the folder existed, with their analysis intact. Pedals live on their own Pedal Bench (and full rigs on the Full Rig Bench) instead of borrowing amp archetypes; a pedal's overview describes drive, tilt, and squash rather than amp voicing, and a missing output-calibration figure is flagged on the table, the browse card, and the Inspect page. The embedded analysis also records the capture's canonical gear class and whether the calibration figures are present, so RigSculpt's badges read an authoritative answer straight from the file.
