SYNERGIZE pairs unlike amps now

SYNERGIZE matches two amps in a stereo rig so they sit together: it reads the RigScope framing baked into both, then shifts their EQ and their breakup point toward a common meeting point. In earlier builds it kept those shifts deliberately small. On similar amps that was fine, but on genuinely different amps it was not enough. A clean amp and a high-gain amp would stay obviously mismatched, one still clean while the other was already saturating, and the EQ would move most of the way but never quite meet.

Two limits caused that, and both are gone. The EQ shift was capped per band, so the largest differences (usually the low end) could not close; that cap is removed, and the pull now closes 84% of each band's measured gap at any tilt. The last 16% is deliberate: each amp keeps a share of its own voicing, so the pair sits together without collapsing to a single tone. The input-drive shift was capped far too tight to bridge a clean-to-high-gain gap; it is now wide enough to bring most pairs to a shared breakup point around center tilt. When both amps carry a full RigScope analysis, the match now works from their measured input-vs-output curves: it lines up how hard each one is breaking up at the level a real pick attack puts into the amp (around -9.5 dBFS), which is the spot that reveals the difference between a clean amp and a high-gain one. Because it has the real curve, the internal loudness hold uses each amp's actual measured output change, so trimming a compressing amp no longer leaves it too loud or too quiet. Two edges remain by design: the widest clean-versus-high-gain pairs still cannot fully meet at the tilt extremes, because the Input trim tops out at +-20 dB, and a large EQ move is voicing rather than level, so it can shift loudness on its own.

This build (0.108.7) also carries two small follow-ups to the curve-mode match: on a clean-anchored pair the Input trim now rests at a sensible position instead of pinning to its limit, and the loudness hold accounts for any Input trim you had set before you engaged SYNERGIZE, so it holds your level from where you actually were.

Amps arrive at matched volume

Neural amp models come out of training at whatever level they come out at, and a clean capture is often far hotter than a high-gain one. Loading one into a stereo pair used to play it at that raw level until the listening window had heard about a second of real playing and trimmed it, which read as a huge volume jump on unlike pairs.

Now the level match happens in two stages. The moment an amp lands in a stereo pair, RigSculpt reads both models' measured response curves (from their RigScope analysis) and pre-sets the new amp's output so its estimated level at playing volume matches the amp you kept, including that amp's current trim. Then the listening window runs as before and fine-tunes the balance from what it actually hears, covering everything a static curve cannot see: your EQ, the cabs, SYNERGIZE. Models without RigScope analysis skip the instant estimate and behave as before. The Match L/R button is unchanged: it still balances the pair and sets the overall level to your target.

Stereo rigs keep their second amp on reload

A player reported that after the 0.93 update, reopening a saved Reaper project brought back Amp A but left Amp B empty. We traced it and confirmed it. The cause was the single-amp default that 0.93 loads on startup: on boot the plugin briefly holds an instruction to clear the second amp slot, and in some hosts (Reaper especially) the saved project restores its two amps before that instruction is cleared, so the leftover instruction then wipes Amp B's file path. Amp A was never affected, because the default always has a first amp.

This is fixed. Loading a project or preset now clears any pending slot changes first, so the saved rig is what you get and the second amp always comes back. One note for anyone already caught by this: a project you reopened on an affected build and then saved again has the empty second-amp path written into that save, so it cannot be recovered from that file; a project you have not re-saved still holds both amps and reloads correctly on this build. Install this build before re-saving any affected projects.

SYNERGIZE lives in the Library Explorer, and has a switch

SYNERGIZE was previously only on the AMP page. Since most pairing happens while you are auditioning amps in the library, its controls now also appear in the NAM Library Explorer, in the strip between the two loaded amps: the on/off toggle and the A-to-B tilt slider, mirroring the AMP-page controls so the two stay in step. They appear when a stereo pair is loaded.

There is also a new setting for the automatic behavior. Under Settings ▸ Workflow, "Synergize amps when loading in stereo" (on by default) re-gels SYNERGIZE on the fresh pair every time you land an amp into a stereo rig, whichever way you loaded it: from the Explorer, from the AMP-page loaders, from a Partner pick, or over the RigScope bridge. Turn it off and loading behaves the classic way, leaving your amps untouched. BUILD STEREO still gels its pair either way.

Turning SYNERGIZE off returns your tone exactly

SYNERGIZE is meant to be non-destructive: turn it on to hear a matched pair, turn it off to get your own amps back. Earlier builds folded any tweak you made while it was on into the saved starting point, so switching it off could leave you a little off from where you actually began, with your own adjustments baked in.

Now the starting point is frozen the moment you engage SYNERGIZE, and switching it off restores exactly that. Nudges you make to a matched band while SYNERGIZE is on are temporary: they last until you move the tilt, which recomputes the match, or turn it off, which returns your original tone. Controls SYNERGIZE never touches, like the Output knob, keep your edits as always.

Browse the NAM library from the keyboard

The NAM Library Explorer now responds to the arrow keys while your mouse is over it, so you can audition down a list without clicking each row.

• Up and down step through the list of models, loading each one as you land on it (the same as a single click), and keep the selection in view as it scrolls.
• Left and right jump to the previous or next group of whatever you are browsing: the next author, manufacturer, or pack when you came in from the left column, or the next archetype when you are in an archetype list. Relational lists like Similar and Partner have no such groups, so left and right simply do nothing there.
• Page Up / Page Down and Home / End move a screen at a time or jump to the ends, and Enter opens the selected model's measured detail.

If arrow keys do nothing in a particular DAW, click once inside the browser first; a few hosts hold on to the arrow keys until the plugin window is focused.
